Activating Your eSIM Abroad on iOS

To activate your eSIM while traveling, follow these steps. Ensure you have a stable connection during the activation process:

1. Go to Settings > Cellular.
2. Enable your Ottersim eSIM (After adding eSIM through QR code)
3. Turn on Data Roaming.
4. On the Cellular > Cellular Data page, make sure Allow Cellular Data Switching is turned OFF.

Activating Your eSIM Abroad on Android

To activate your eSIM while traveling, follow these steps Ensure you have a stable connection during the activation process:

1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
2. Enable your Ottersim eSIM (After adding eSIM through QR code or manually enter SM-DP+ Address)
3. On the SIM Manager page, ensure that Mobile Data is set to your eSIM.
4. Turn on Data Roaming by navigating to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks.
5. On the Settings > Connections > SIM Manager page, Remember to toggle OFF Data Switching.

Important Information About Activating Your eSIM (both IOS & Android)

Please note that your eSIM data plan activates as soon as data roaming is enabled. If you’re not using mobile data immediately, we recommend waiting to activate data roaming for Ottersim’s eSIM until you reach your destination.

Important: Ottersim’s data services start at UTC+8. Enabling data roaming at 11:30 PM UTC+8 provides only 30 minutes of use before the day’s validity expires. To optimize your data usage, adjust your activation timing accordingly.
